In 2020, the total volume of traded securities in the Egyptian Stock Exchange (EGX) surpassed 92.8 billion units. This represented an increase from around 50 billion units in 2019. Since 2016, the number of traded securities fluctuated, reaching the trough in 2019 and the peak in 2020. Moreover, the number of listed companies in the EGX stood at 215, while the number of traded companies was 214 in 2020.
