Share of value added by Japan in the global semiconductor industry 2021, by activity
Japan's share with regard to the value added in the area of equipment within the global semiconductor industry was 27 percent in 2021. The country also held a comparatively high share in the case of discrete, analog, and other (DAO) semiconductors. Both categories belong to the more R&D-intensive part of the industry.
