Between 2004 and 2020, the sales volume of onions with a protected designation of origin (PDO) has followed an overall upward direction, notwithstanding a few fluctuations. In 2020, over 6.1 thousand tons of PDO onions were sold in France.
When it comes to garlic with a protected geographical indication (PGI), the sales volume has followed a similar path, going from 767 tons in 2007, to 1.5 thousand tons in 2020.
