PayPay: number of payments 2022

In the fiscal year 2022, more than 5.14 billion transactions were conducted via mobile payment platform PayPay, up by 41.5 percent compared to the previous year.
Established in 2018, PayPay is operated by Yahoo Japan and SoftBank Group through their holding company Z Holdings. PayPay enables users to connect their bank account to a smartphone app and perform financial transactions by scanning a QR code or bar code.
