Gross insurance premiums in Africa 2021, by country
Africa's insurance premium amounted to some 74 billion U.S. dollars in 2021. This corresponded to a share of one percent of the world's insurance premium. South Africa had by far the highest participation in the continent. Around 51 billion U.S. dollars were paid by insured individuals and businesses in policies in the country. Second in the ranking, Morocco registered an insurance premium total value of 6.3 billion U.S. dollars.
