Gender gap index in the area of political empowerment in Ghana 2021, by indicator
In 2021, Ghana obtained an overall score of 0.14 in the area of political empowerment under the gender gap index. The highest points were registered when considering the percentage of women in ministerial positions, at 0.33, ranking 65th in the world. On the other hand, the country recorded no female head of state within the last 50 years, achieving zero points in the political empowerment sub-index.
