In 2019, fourth graders in Japan spent on average 101 minutes per weekend day on sports or playing that involves moving the body. In general, fourth graders tended to do less sports or playing activities that involve physical exercise in 2020 when compared to 2019, and instead spent more time on smartphones and tablets, as well as on gaming consoles.
