Japan: share of EV purchase considerations by price 2021

As of February 2021, 28 percent of respondents for whom electric vehicles were too expensive stated that they would consider an EV purchase if its price did not exceed two million Japanese yen. Less than 40 percent of respondents accepted prices above the two million yen threshold.

*Survey subjects were registered members of Park24's service subsidiary Times Club who had joined since February 15, 2020, and used one of Park24 Group's services (pay by the hour parking, parking on a subscription basis, car sharing, and rent-a-car) right away. This question item only included respondents who stated beforehand that prices for EVs needed to become reasonable for them to consider a purchase.
