According to a survey conducted in 2023 on the use of media in South Korea, around 36 percent of respondents to use Netflix as a paid video streaming service. Following was Tving with roughly 9 percent stating to use that service. The paid version of YouTube followed that. While YouTube is mostly known and very popular as an Advertisement-Video-on-Demand (AVOD) service which is free to use, YouTube launched its subscription service in 2014 as Music Key, before renaming it as YouTube Red and finally YouTube Premium.
