Distribution of logistics costs in India FY 2019, by type
In financial year 2019, around 61 percent of the overall logistics costs in India were caused by transportation. Road shared around 64 percent of the overall freight logistics. For freight transporting beyond 300 km, railway's modal share decreased to around 32 percent. The substantial logistics cost took around 14 percent of the national GDP.
