In the fiscal year 2021, there were 271 adventure playgrounds remaining throughout Japan. The figures declined during the past two decades, reaching their lowest point during the surveyed period in 2021. Adventure playgrounds in Japan mostly have natural environment settings and provide young children with a playground different than those available in the city.
