In 2020, the sales revenue of domestic craft beer sold solely through retailers in South Korea amounted to roughly 73.4 billion South Korean won. With that, retail sales of craft beer overtook the sales of beer in establishments, such as restaurants and bars, for the first time. The sudden spike in retail sales is most likely a result of South Korea's social distancing measures due to the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.
