As of 2018, artisans in Morocco mostly worked in areas concerned with crafts with high cultural content. This referred to 63 percent of the artisans, while 37 percent of them worked in the utility sector. Overall, as of May 2021, the main contributor to the craft industry in Morocco was pottery and stone, with an export value reaching around 91.7 million Moroccan dirhams, roughly 10.2 million U.S. dollars.
