Number of Al-Azhar students in Egypt 2021/2022, by educational level
The total number of Al-Azhar students in Egypt amounted to 2,213,890 as of the academic year 2021/2022. The majority of the students were in the primary level with over 1.21 million students. Moreover, the number of preparatory level students in the Al-Azhar system was about 442,000, while enlisted students in secondary education were slightly less at approximately 381,460 students.
