Hungary: poll on banning pride based on the "Pedophilia Act" 2021

In June 2021, over half of surveyed Hungarians were of the opinion that pride parade should not be banned in the country. However, 36 percent of respondents believed that gay pride should be banned in accordance with the "Pedophilia Act" introduced in June 2021.

* On June 15, 2021, the Hungarian parliament passed a law meant to protect children's rights. However, the "Pediophilia Act contains provision including a ban on “exposing minors to any content that depicts sexuality for its own sake or portrays and promotes homosexuality or deviance from gender identity based on birth sex” including in advertisements, education, and any media content.
