The coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic significantly affected the tourism industry worldwide. In Tunisia, international tourist arrivals decreased by 100 percent in April 2020 compared to the same month of the previous year. The dramatic effects of the pandemic were still visible in 2021 and 2022. The number of tourist arrivals was 33 percent lower in July 2022 than in July 2019.
