Preferred place of residence among university students in Japan 2022

In a survey conducted in 2021 among university students in Japan, more than half of the respondents stated that they wanted to live in rural areas if they could freely choose their place of residence. Only about 19 percent of the respondents named Tokyo as their ideal place to live.
