Article 6 protects people's right to a fair trial and public hearing and was observed in 287 cases. Between 2018 and 2020, the number of pending applications at the European Court of Human Rights increased, going from 56 thousand to 62 thousand. In 2020, the country with the highest number of pending cases was Russia, with a total of 13,645 cases.
