China: acceptance of getting married without buying a home by gender 2021

According to a survey on home purchasing behavior in China conducted in January 2021, 54.1 percent of respondents found getting married without buying a home unacceptable. More specifically, around 61.3 percent of surveyed female would not accept a marriage without a purchased home, compared to roughly 42 percent of male participants.

Income: about 92.8 percent earned less than 20,000 yuan per month after tax, of which 44.1 percent accounted for between 5,000 and 10,000 yuan (one yuan equals approximately 0.15 U.S. dollars and 0.13 euros as of August 2021).
