China: necessities of betrothal gifts 2021

According to a survey on home purchasing behavior in China conducted in January 2021, around 58 percent of respondents thought betrothal gifts for getting married were necessary and 21.8 percent found them didn't matter. More specifically, 61 percent of surveyed female and 54 percent of surveyed male stated that betrothal gifts were needed for getting married.
