The primary concerns for the alternatives industry for the next five years by asset managers and investors worldwide were the expectation of a global recession, with 56 percent of investors and 46 percent of asset managers expecting to face this challenge within the next five years. The second most anticipated concern is geopolitical risks.

The survey was conducted with 224 alternative fund managers from sectors such as private equity, hedge funds, credit funds, and captive alternatives divisions, along with 200 institutional investors, including pension funds, banks, wealth managers, insurers, family offices, funds of funds, sovereign wealth funds, and foundations.
Participants were asked about the biggest potential concerns for the alternatives industry in the next five years.
