Population at risk of poverty in Spain 2022, by region
The distribution of the population at risk of poverty in Spain reveals a disparity between the Northern and Southern regions. The poverty rate of all Northern regions is below the national average of 20.4 percent. In contrast, the Canary Islands, Extremadura, and the autonomous cities of Melilla and Ceuta had the highest percentage of population, exceeding 29 percent, at risk of poverty.
