Consumption volume of rice for the fuel ethanol production Japan 2011-2020
In 2019, the demand for rice for the production of fuel ethanol in Japan amounted to around 0.49 thousand metric tons. Figures were forecast to decrease further to about 0.47 thousand metric tons in 2020. Fuel ethanol is usually produced from corn, but in Japan, rice is mainly used as feedstock.
