Electricity trade balance in Europe 2020, by selected country
In 2020, Germany's electricity exports exceeded its imports by more than 1.88 billion U.S. dollars, the highest net balance reported in Europe that year. France followed in second, with a net trade balance of 1.55 billion dollars. In contrast, Italy was Europe's largest net importer of electricity, with imports surpassing exports by nearly 1.85 billion dollars.
