Households paying education fees for children (0-6) in South Africa 2018, by group
In 2018, more than half the Black African and Colored households disclosed that they did not pay fees for their children aged zero to six years to attend educational institutions (56.1 percent and 53.3 percent, respectively). Half the Asian/Indian households and 25.1 percent of the white households did not pay any fees. Furthermore, 27.6 percent of the white population paid more than 2,000 South African rands (comparable to 139.97 U.S. dollars) for their children's education.
