Romania's gross domestic product growth peaked in 2004 at 8.3 percent, and subsequently registered one of it's lowest drops in 2009-2010, as a consequence of the global financial crisis in 2007-2008. In 2020, Romania's GDP dropped by approximately 3.9 percent because of the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. However by 2022, the GDP in Romania registered a 4.7 percent growth.
