Huge quantities of multi purpose agricultural commodities are produced worldwide every year, and end up as either livestock feed, human food, fuel, or for industrial uses. The majority of wheat, rice, legumes, and roots and tubers are consumed by humans. Meanwhile, almost 60 percent of maize and oilseeds are produced for livestock feed.
