Number of taxi drivers in Japan 2011-2020
As of March 31, 2020, Japanese taxi corporations employed approximately 240.49 thousand cab drivers, decreasing to a decade low from nearly 354 thousand in 2011. In 2021, the average taxi driver aged almost 61 years and had worked in this profession for more than ten years in continuation.
