Retail real estate transaction volume in Europe 2019-2020, by market

In 2020, the value of retail real estate transactions in Germany amounted to approximately nine billion euros, making it the largest retail real estate market in Europe. The United Kingdom (UK) and France completed the top three with approximately 7.5 and 3.7 billion euros respectively. All three countries experienced a decline in retail transaction volumes between 2019 and 2020 but the change was most dramatic in Italy.
