Firmness of Canadians' voting decision for federal election 2021, by voting intention
On August 15, 2021, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, then in a favorable position in the polls, asked the Governor General to dissolve Parliament so that a new federal election could be held two years earlier than planned. While Canadians' voting intentions fluctuated only slightly between that decision and mid-September, it appears that more than one in five Canadians were still unsure about their final vote three days before the election. Those most certain of their choice were among the Conservative Party, with 69 percent of voters reporting their choice as final a few days before the election. It also appears that Annamie Paul's Green Party was the one that gathered the most early voters.
