Share of passenger car sales in India 2002-2023, by body type
In 2023, the majority of passenger cars sold in India were SUV and crossover, with a 49 percent of market share. There was a continuous increase in the market share during the surveyed period. Meanwhile, hatchback car sales saw a constant decrease from about 67 percent to 30 percent during the presented period.
