Gazprom's investment in gas supply in Russia 2011-2020
In 2020, Russian energy giant Gazprom invested 56 billion Russian rubles in its program aimed at increasing the penetration rate of natural gas in the country's households, also known as gasification level. Thus, the company sharply increased its investment compared to the previous years. The current stage of Gazprom's gasification program was planned from 2021 to 2025 and had an objective of reaching the gas penetration rate of 74.7 percent. At the end of 2020, over 71 percent of households across Russia had access to gas supply. Especially low levels were recorded in the Far East and Siberia.
