When asked for reasons for subscribing to video streaming platforms during a survey conducted in India in 2021, over 50 percent of respondents cited being offered a large variety of content than cable and satellite television as their primary reason. Another 44 percent of respondents stated affordability as yet another reason for subscribing to these platforms.
