Hazardous waste shipments in the United States 2021, by state
Texas shipped the most hazardous waste to other states in the United States in 2021, at over 2.7 million tons. That year, there were more than eight million tons of hazardous waste interstate shipments across the U.S. Ohio was the second largest shipper, at 513 thousand tons. Ohio was also the fourth largest producer of hazardous waste in the U.S. that year.
