Monthly wholesale electricity prices in France 2019-2023

In January 2023, the average wholesale electricity price in France stood at around 11.8 euros per megawatt-hour, the lowest price since August 2021. In the past years, electricity prices in France soared, the consequence of an energy supply shortage which severely impacted Europe and was recently further aggravated by Russia's invasion of Ukraine.
