Female teens' & young women's assessment of online platforms in Latin America 2021
During a 2021 survey carried out among women aged between 15 and 24 years in Brazil, Colombia, Ecuador, El Salvador, and Peru, 54 percent of respondents said they cross-checked information online with other sources to decide if it was truthful. Around 53 percent of the interviewees checked if the online source had provided evidence. The share of female teenagers and young adults who assumed all information they accessed online was truthful stood at two percent.
