In total, the rate of adult literacy amounted to 62.02 percent in 2018. Over the observed period, the rate of adult literacy has been subject to fluctuation. The adult literacy rate refers to the share of individuals aged 15 years and older who can read and write as well as understand simple expressions about their daily lives.
