As of October 2020, there were over 503 thousand patients in a day with mental or behavioral disorders in Japan. Around 193 of them with schizophrenia, schizotypal personality disorder, or delusional disorder. The estimated patient number in a day peaked at over 550 thousand patients in 2005.
