Leading commercial real estate lenders globally by sector

The lending activity of the leading commercial mortgage banking companies in 2021 showed that a significant proportion of originations volumes was in the multifamily sector. Eight of the ten highest-ranking firms had over 50 percent of their lending activity to this sector. The second most popular sector was the office sector where both Cushman and Wakefield and MetLife Investment Management reported loaning activity of about 44 percent.
