ESG score providers: investors view on quality

According to a survey conducted in fall 2018, the environmental, social and governance (ESG) score provider considered by the largest share of investors to be of high quality was RobecoSAM (now S&P). 63 percent of respondents rated this this provider either four of five out of five for quality. CDP Climate, Water and Forests Scores, and Sustainalytics rounded out the top three, with 62 and 53 percent of respondents viewing them as high quality respectively.

Note that despite the small sample size, the finding of this survey are consistent with data from a larger survey of sustainability experts conducted by the source using the same questions in Fall 2018.
