In 2021, Worldpay estimated that digital and mobile wallet payments accounted for 49 percent of online transactions worldwide and will further increase to 53 percent by 2024. Online wallets had the highest market share in the Asia-Pacific Region, accounting for approximately 69 percent of e-commerce payments. Middle East, Africa, and Latin America are expected to experience the highest increase in mobile wallets market share online by 2024.
