The study took into consideration online food retailers, excluding online stores selling alcohol, tobacco products, sport nutrition, and food delivery services. Only domestic online sales were considered (excluding export sales).

Sector statistics are provided for 38 food stores, including 36 eGrocery online stores, included in the 1000 largest Russian online stores in terms of online orders and 2 largest universal marketplace - Wildberries.ru and Ozon.ru.
