Share of people with higher education in Iceland 2011-2019, by country of birth
In Iceland, the share of the population with a higher education grew over the last decade, both among the local-born, the EU-born, and the non-EU-born population. The growth was highest for the population born outside of the EU, with an increase of around 15 percentage points from 2015 to 2019. In 2019, almost 45 percent of the people born outside of the EU had a higher education, whereas the respective numbers for the local-born and EU-born population were around 36 and 38 percent.
