People at risk of poverty or social exclusion in Denmark 2010-2020, by birthplace
Between 2010 and 2020, the rate of Danish-born citizens in Denmark at risk of poverty or social exclusion remained relatively stable between 15 and 18 percent. It fluctuated more for the foreign-born population, peaking in 2017 both for EU-born and non-EU-born citizens. In 2020, 37 percent of the population born outside of the EU was at risk of poverty or social exclusion, whereas the respective numbers for the EU-born and Danish-born population were 21 and 15 percent.
