Art professionals' opinions on threats to the art market's reputation globally 2021
A June 2021 survey investigated art professionals' opinions on the biggest threats to the art market's reputation worldwide. Overall, 80 percent of interviewed art professionals agreed that issues of authenticity, lack of provenance, forgery, and attribution posed significant risks to the market's credibility. By contrast, only 34 percent of the survey sample believed auction guarantees to be a threat.
