Share of respondents who see inequality in pay for women's sport worldwide June 2021
A survey conducted in June 2021 identified the share of respondents who perceived inequality in pay for women's sport in selected countries worldwide. In countries such as Spain and France, perceptions of inequality were high as 78 and 73 percent of respondents, respectively, acknowledged the unequitable treatment of sportswomen in comparison to sportsmen. By contrast, only 35 percent of survey participants in the United Arab Emirates were of the opinion that women were treated unfairly in sports when it came to being paid.
