As of 2021, roughly 31 million individuals in the U.S. benefited from the Affordable Care Act and were enrolled in some form of ACA-related health insurance. This figure has increased from 12.6 million in 2014, the year ACA took effect. Since then, there has been an increase in the number of people who have become eligible for free or subsidized health care.
