Main causes of disaster displacements in sub-Saharan Africa 2020
As of 2020, 23 million new person displacements registered in sub-Saharan Africa were caused by floods. Storms and droughts occurring in the region accounted for some 2.4 million and 1.9 million displacements, respectively. In the same year, nearly 4.3 million overall cases of disaster-related displacements were reported in sub-Saharan Africa.
