As of 2021, over 20 thousand people were at risk of displacement due to floods in Ghana, according to the source's estimates. This meant that, each year, the given number of people would be at risk of being forced to flee their damaged homes because of flooding events. Moreover, yearly occurring earthquakes in the country were expected to cause, on average, 35 displacements.
