Sweden: online Christmas shopping abroad 2021

Among Swedish shoppers planning to buy Christmas gifts from abroad via the internet in 2021, 31 percent intended to do so from German online retailers. This share remained stable compared to 2020, unlike Great Britain, which showed a significant decrease in holiday purchase intention. In 2021, only 23 percent of Swedish respondents said they were likely to buy from there, 11 percentage points lower than a year earlier.

* For 2021, four separate surveys were carried out. The first survey was conducted in August 2021 with a total of 1,382 respondents. The second survey was conducted in September 2021 with a total of 1,345 respondents. The third and fourth surveys were conducted in October 2021 with 1,385 and 3,086 respondents, respectively. The base for these figures is respondents who said they were planning to buy gifts from abroad this year.
